Rick Russell and Midwest Tube Mills Named Finalist for Indiana University Kelley School of Business Honor10.19.2006 Indiana University Kelley School of Business recognizes Rick Russell and Midwest Tube Mills, Inc, as a finalist for this year’s IU’s Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Indianapolis Rooftop Ballroom. Dr. Donald Kuratko, executive director of the school’s Johnson Center, presented the awards and also stated at the event that “these entrepreneurial companies are the very fabric of the future for the state of Indiana. They are vital to the state’s effort to develop an entrepreneurial culture,” Kuratko, also went on to say that they are also important contributors to the communities where they are located. They’ve worked hard to make a success of their business ventures, and we feel that they deserve the special recognition that this program provides. Kuratko also presented the William L. Haeberle Legacy Award to Columbus Indiana Richard Dick Johnson. The Johnson Ventures, Inc. chairman is the founder of Bigfoot Industries convenience store chain, which has been sold, and the primary benefactor for IU’s Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The award commemorates the lasting mark of the Johnson’s business creation to the state. The award is given in honor of Haeberle, IU professor emeritus of management and an advisor to scores of Indiana entrepreneurs for nearly 60 years. |
